I've meant to say a few words about a Gil Brewer twofer I
bought from Stark House: WILD TO POSSESS/A TASTE FOR SIN.
Both are choice noir reads. WILD takes place in tropical
Florida and is about a failed kidnap caper. TASTE, a bank
heist, was the better written and the paranoia drips off the
pages. Bill Pronzini's great essay is included along with
contributions by Gregory Shephard and Gil's wife, Verlaine
Brewer. There's also a GB bibliography. All in all, a nice
package with robust reading. I enjoyed it.
