RARA-AVIS: Film stock and Truffaut

don't you think it's possible that the film stock on Truffaut's THE BRIDE WORE BLACK was just faded and therefore seemed wrong to you?

Mind you, I didn't like the film at all - it was bad Hitchcock mimicking and quite loosely done -, but I don't think the stock was really all that bad.
(And I agree with someone who said that Truffaut is one of most overrated directors. I'd say "ever", but his LA NUIT AMERICAIN is pretty good.)
