Which one did you see? The original with Glenn Ford and Van
Heflin or the recent remake?
IIRC, the original stuck with Leonard's story much more
closely. This doesn't necessarily mean it was better than the
remake (which was certainly true to the spirit, if not the
letter, of Leonard's original yarn), but it was, as I recall,
a closer adaptation.
