There's one thing I do owe Kookie. He released a record of Kookie, Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb that was a pretty dreadful novelty hit. On the B-side (for those who remember B-sides) was his version of Cole Porter's You're The Top. I thought the lyrics were pretty cool and then I found out who Cole Porter was and am still of fan. Of Porter. Author and ale. Never looked back .
