I really liked the first one, SHOOTING ELVIS. the second one, KILLING PAPARAZZI, not so much. I hear there's at least one more, something or other GARBO. I'll pick it up if I see it lying around. but the series has lost its momentum for me

I don't know how hard boiled she is, but I also enjoy Sparkle Hayter's series about a tv reporter. yeah, her name is Sparkle

I've read a few Edna Buchanan's. she recalls some interesting anecdotes from her years as a crime reporter. but her novels never seem to go anywhere
