I've never been a fan of boxing, and I don't think I've ever read any boxing fiction, but I'll throw this one out there. Jay McInerney's RANSOM. It is noir at the core and one of the ten best/ most disturbing books I've ever read.

BTW- I started THE SHARK INFESTED CUSTARD yesterday. Thanks to all of you that mentioned it. Love that Willeford.
