I enjoyed reading a gritty, well-written, and tough police procedural, BLUE VALOR by Illona Haus. Homicide Detective Kay Delaney works for the Baltimore PD. She uses detailed investigative methods, and the Baltimore setting is well done. Patricia Cornwell fans might enjoy reading her work.
