Lawrence Block is still sending out his email newsletter. I received one within the past month or so. Updates on his travels, word on his latest novel, which is a Keller book.

FYI: James Ellroy is taking over Turner Classic Movies this Tuesday, November 13, as part of guest programmer month. He's showing a trio of relatively unheralded crime dramas from 1958 -- Stakeout on Dope Street, Murder by Contract, and The Lineup -- along with the solid B-movie Armored Car Robbery. He'll be introducing the films along with TCM host Robert Osborne. A clip from Osborne's interview with Ellroy is already up on the TCM website. The fun starts at 8PM Eastern.

After Ellroy's picks are done, TCM is showing the terrific Follow Me Quietly, which like Armored Car Robbery is directed by Richard Fleischer. It's also worth catching.
