Where do comic books fit in here? Do they? For instance, I remember
Disney comics of Disney productions like Davy Crockett. But were there
comic book tie ins to crime movies? Or were they considered to adult

change that, too? I'm sure I've seen Dragnet comic books, and
 lunchboxes.

A company called Dell comics did a lot of movie and TV tie-ins through the 50's and 60's and that gave way to Gold Key comics in the 70's. I don't remember any crime movies but I seem to remember there may have been some tie-ins with some of the crime TV shows. A web search would bring some titles up.
