Sorry to disagree with authority's "not" here, but-well, of course it does. One cannot discuss texts intelligently while placing certain aspects of them or what they touch, however potentially tangential, off limits. That's fandom, not discourse. (Maybe the meaning of life has something to do with a pack of rabid deconstructionists biting an enemy ass while Hammett's niece watches?)
