A few years ago, I heard Lawrence Block speak on a panel of
crime fiction writers. He was asked if he ever envisioned or
planned for his protagonists P.I. Matt Scudder and gentleman
burglar Bernie Rhodenbarr to meet. He said though both live
in NYC, they'd always move in parallel universes.
Hasn't this meeting of different series main characters been
done in the past?
