A good example of pulpy, hard-boiled SF is Frank Kelly Rich's JAKE STRAIT series which is presently being reprinted by Gold Eagle, the same guys that publish the Mack Bolan: The Executioner series. Rich's novels, however, are much better than your average macho vigilante books. Rich is also the editor of Modern Drunkard magazine
