Sorry, I love the Stark books I've read -- all but one of the
Parkers and the other one about the actor that Hard Case
reprinted. I'm still exploring Westlake and I haven't read
Tucker Coe. I'm currently reading "Levine", which has an
interesting short autobiographical introduction by
Westlake.
My posting that you quote was a snide reference to the
interest on the part of some on the list in early
pseudonymous work, "sex novels" and other low end commercial
fiction, which in many cases I suspect is pretty minor. I
regret the remark, which was gratuitous. I recognize that
many here have a collector's interest in this material, which
I don't share. And I have to admit that the Block novel
"Lucky At Cards", which I understand comes out of the same
approximate world and period, is quite readable and
entertaining. It may well be that there's other good stuff
out there as well.
