Gotcha. But George is only one of many on The Wire (I don't
mean to downplay his contribution, just acknowledge those of
others). Following his work as a reporter at the Baltimore
Sun, David Simon wrote two books before moving on to TV,
Homicide and The Corner (technically David was already doing
some work on the show Homicide while writing The Corner), the
latter of which was a collaboration with Ed Burns. And George
is not the only novelist working on the set. Richard Price
and Denis Lehane have also worked on the show.
