Yeah, but at this stage of his career I would expect mastery
from Parker. Instead, his writing has gone downhill. Writers
are supposed to get better... The last Parker I read I didn't
finish after painfully going through 2/3 of it. I found it
actively disagreeable
(which is rare for me when reading hardboiled novels).
