From Andrew Walker's review of Rumour, the TV drama that got
Mike Hodges the job of directing Get Carter: "revealed a
vividly conceptualized view of life as a state of constantly
impending doom only tempered by periods of grievous bodily
harm." Don't know if it's too inclusive or too restrictive as
a definition, but damn I wish Rumours was available.
