RARA-AVIS: Re:Books to Films

I enthusiastically second The Woman Chaser. How I wish that would be released on DVD...my VHS is getting worn out!

I'll add to the list:
Elmore Leonard's Get Shorty (but not Be Cool), Jackie Brown, and Out of Sight

James Ellroy's L A Confidential.

Also, Robert Rodriguez's Roadracers; not really hard-boiled, it's an homage to juvenile delinquent films and books starring David Arquette as rockabilly punk. A lot of fun, but is another that hasn't been released on DVD; kind of a lost little gem.
