I had just moved to Florida to attend the University of Miami
when Condominium came out. Everyone in Florida was talking
about it so I picked it up. I had never read MacDonald before
so that book was my introduction. It's a thriller and very
different from his mysteries (don't know about his other
standalone books, I haven't read them.) I loved it, even
though I have a feeling it may be very dated now - although
probably somewhat prescient of Hurricane Andrew and its
aftermath. Anyway, I have a real fondness for that book
because it led me to Travis McGee.
