Chris chided me:

"Mark, please remedy this as soon as possible. I know it's not a P.I. novel*, but don't let that hold you back. You will not be sorry.
"* I hope we've bantered enough that this ever-so-slight jab is taken in jest!"

Sure. I've made no secret that the PI novel is my comfort fiction
(about halfway through Wade Miller's Guilty Bystander after finishing Michael Kortya's Sorrow's Anthem). However, if held at gunpoint, I might consider reading something else. But Jason Starr's on deck (about whom I'm sure you approve), so McCarthy will have to wait at least a little bit. I may, however, have to actually buy The Road in hardback, something I rarely do (of course, the deep discounts it seems to be getting will help).

Anyway, what about my question: Does The Road fall under the postmodern label?

Mark
