Thanks for the comments on the noir panel. I feel it bodes well for our sub-genre that there were perhaps 200 people attending the panel, one of the largest panel turnouts. So there's people out there who dare to explore beyond talking cats.. I was blessed with 4 fine contemporary noir writers. Note two of them were women. Also Cornelia, who characterizes her writing as "WASP Noir," had just been nominated for an Edgar. Megan was a previous nominee. And Ed and Con both had new books out and for sale at the Conference. It was not easy transforming sunny Seattle into the proper dismal gray we required. I don't have that much pull with those in charge up above. Perhaps I tried too hard for later in the day we had rain (Rain in Seattle?)! Thanks to any and all who attended.
