It's been 30 years since I read *Lolita* but I recall
laughing out loud at a list of motels and signs that Humbert
saw along the highways and byways of America. A very long
paragraph filled with names of businesses like Starlight
Manor, Roadside Roost, Burger Corral, and All-Night
Naps.
Noir? Not quite. More well-written weird rather than anything
else.
