Interesting story from today's Daily Variety. ABC has made a
script commitment for a new Philip Marlowe TV series, with
the character updated to the 21st century. It's described as
"a present-day procedural crime drama with noir aspects and
set in Los Angeles." There are currently no plans to use any
Chandler novels as source material, even though the article
notes that the rights holders to the Marlowe character are
involved.FWIW, the producers are also behind the upcoming
film adaptation of Dennis Lehane's GONE, BABY, GONE.The full
