The answer is in the question. It's a rediculously successful
franchise because it finds ways to add new and younger
viewers on a regular basis.
We're a self-select group here. Most of us like or even love
retro, even though we may be eclectic in our taste. Let's not
kid outselves that we are even close to a majority of
movie-goers--or even a majority of readers.
