RARA-AVIS: Savage Bride in Vegas

Thanks for the suggestions on bookstores in Vegas. I went last weekend and picked up a copy of Cornell Woolrich's Savage Bride (Gold Medal) at Albion. They had a sizeable collectible mystery section.

We did a lot of interesting things and one of them was a trip to The Gun Store (2900 E Tropicana Ave). I had heard they had a big selection of machine guns to rent and I was reading a book on the AK-47 and so I thought I should fire off a few rounds. I also wanted to shoot one of those old Thompsons that are always featured in gangster movies in the 30s. I was amazed at how easy to handle the AK was.

Had one of those only-in-Vegas moments when a whole bridal party came in to shoot an Uzi dressed in their gowns. They were all gorgeous and seemed to handle the weapon like they had some experience with it. Now that I think about they certainly looked like they could have been Israeli.
