I still can't understand why the producers of this rediculously successful franchise don't do these stories in historical perspective. Set during the cold war in the 1950s and early 60s, as they were written, would add such a sense of class to a franchise which has become, let's face it, a parody of itself. Bond had so many specific elements to him in the books, both personal features and his extensions: the super-charged Bentley, gun metal cigarette case, steel Rolex, etc. Fleming brought a sense of character and class to what are really stories Sax Rhomer might have written. I hope someday the owners of this franchise get a clue. In the mean time, this rendition of Bond is certainly the best since Connery's interpretation.
