Tying a couple of threads together, Michael Connelly's
protagonist in Blood Work can't drive. He's hired to solve a
crime, it's a job he can't turn down. A big part of the
character development is that he can't drive, becasue he's
recovering from a heart transplant. Driving is too dangerous.
He has to take the bus to get around to investigate the
crime. I think Connelly did an especially good job with that
book. It's an interesting take on a frail PI. Haven't seen
that one used before. The character's heart problems was
based on a friend of Mike's, that he met at his first
booksigning.
