My list of favorites doesn't stray from the basic RA
consensus, but I thought I'd share it to add another voice to
the conversation: George Pelecanos, Michael Connelly, James
Sallis, Ken Bruen, Joseph Wambaugh, James Ellroy and Richard
Price.
I'll read anything I can by that group as soon as I possibly
can. Others that I wouldn't miss but don't approach with
quite the same urgency are Block's Scudder series, Estleman's
Walker series, Thomas Cook, Walter Mosley and on and on and
on.
