I recall reading some posts on Charlie Huston's CAUGHT
STEALING and picked up a copy to read. Hank Thompson, an
ex-ballplayer
(sidebar: there was a major leaguer named Hank Thompson),
goes through lots of hell over a certain item the bad guys
want from him. Violent and noirish, the book has a softer
side as seen in Hank's relationship with his parents living
in California. Very enjoyable and first-rate writing. I'd
rate it five out of five derringers.
