RARA-AVIS: Context or no context?

David,

my answer is easy: context, please! If I get my hands on a reprint novel that has a fore-or afterword, I'll be sure to read that first and the novel can wait. Sometimes a good fore- or afterword can be better than the actual text. I'm not saying this was the case here, but I really enjoyed George's foreword in one of the Peter Rabe reprints from the Stark House.
