RARA-AVIS: Visconti's Ossessione

I agree totally with you about Visconti's OSSESSIONE. What's it called in English-speaking countries? It's a very good film and socially more conscious than the American ones.

Wasn't there a contemporary French film based on Cain's novel? Has anyone seen it? By Pierre Chenal, if I remember correctly? Etienne?

By the way, thanks to Miker for his eloquent readings on the critical studies of noir. Haven't really been able to comment - been busy. Duncan's NOIR FICTION is a very good book, that much I can say.
