Yeah, you in particular I didn't think I'd convert. But hey, at least you reminded me why I usually just lurk!

************ Haha! Hey! Speaking of Pelecanos, it's been a month of Sundays since I read him. I read Sweet Forever and another one and liked them both. Pelecanos used to be a rara-avis member. He turned me on to one of my favorite serial killer novels.

I was down south on vacation a few weeks back and bought one of his at a thrift store, something like Down By the River Where the Dead Men Go. I'm planning on chomping down on it soon.

This evening I bought a book of short stories (I hate short stories) by Tim O'Brien called The Things They Carried. It's one of those books that you think about getting for a long time before the deed gets done. I saw it at the bookstore and read most of the first story and I was sold on it. Had a short part about crawling through a tunnel that reminded me of Michael Connelly. My ex-Marine friend bought the two latest paperbacks in the W.E.B. Griffith Corp series. We should both be able to crank through a few pages on the long haul back to southern Indiana tomorrow.
