Finished this a few days ago. It started out decent and
tapered down to mediocre. I grew tired of the continuous
exposition on the differences between Thai and American
thinking. Although I didn't know the solution to the mystery,
I did know exactly what the protagonist was going to do about
it very early on. Another problem I had was that all the
characters alternated between tough and in-control and
marshmallow, depending on what the plot called for at the
moment. And the detail of the crime concerning the difficulty
of drugging the snakes turned into a red herring. The ending
was cutesy.
It wasn't really bad, but I'm not onboard for the next.
