Cormac McCarthy's hardboiled novel, No Country for Old Men
just came out in paperback, and I'm blazing my way through
it--I know people mentioned it months ago, but I waited for
the paperback.
As long as McCarthy's style doesn't get on your nerves, you
should check it out. No cowboys this time, but his clipped
style works perfect in a neo-noir setting. The shootout
between drug runners, a hitman, and the protagonist in a
Texas motel is worth the price of admission. Anybody else
reading with me?
