Ken Bruen was interviewed on television this morning. He took up mystery writing during his recovery from the psychological withdrawal brought on by four months of torture in a Brazilian prison.
   
  I found the interview very moving. And it occurs to me that a number of noir writers have been brutalized in some form. In other times it would not have been macho to talk about it, but just wondering....
