Dear miker,

what´s about the Mitch Tobin novels (written as Tucker Coe) by Donald E. Westlake? "Kinds of Love, Kinds of Death" was published in 1967, and the last Tobin novel "Don´t Lie to Me" in 1972.

Shaft has his first appearence in 1970.

Albert Samson (by Michael Z. Lewin) firstly investigates in "Ask the Right Question" at 1971.

Harry Kemelman´s first Rabbi Small novel "Friday the Rabbi Slept Late" was published in 1964. But an investigating rabbi may fall short of the expectation of a P.I.
