Bill Pronzini's first "Nameless" novel, THE SNATCH, didn't
appear in 1969, as I previously asserted, but in 1971 (still
within the timeframe).
What appeared in 1969 was "The Snatch," the "Nameless" short
story that Pronzini expanded into the 1971 novel.
