Does anyone know if a kitchen "butcher" knife can penetrate
standard police-issue body armor?
A few years ago, I covered a story in Indiana in which a
psychotic who had been off his medicine attacked a K-9 dog
and its handler with a "butcher" knife. Although the
officer's vest was resistant to the attack, the perp slashed
both arms severing the tendons and rendering the offier
helpless. Fortunately, another office took the perp down with
a fatal head shot before he could do more damage.
Alabama Jack (Who vowed never again to work at a newspaper
adjacent to the police station - which is where this attack
took place).
