Sad to hear this. Richard Fleischer, in my book, is one of
these talented craftsmen producing great films with only very
few misfiring. His name on the credits was always a
sufficient reason for me to watch the movie, and this since
the mid- fifties... Let us not forget: The Vikings (a
classic) - Soylent Green (another classic, often undervalued
among SF references) a real SF noir - The New Centurions -
Mr. Majestyk... among other achievements. He was good in all
the film genres he touched.
Also his kind of memoirs, about his experience with the film
industry:
"Just Tell Me when To Cry", is a really interesting
book. A great film maker.
