Coincidentally, I'm reading Crumley's Bordersnakes and loving it. I have Mexican Tree Duck, but haven't read it yet. Crumley's Last Good Kiss is one of the best of the genre, within my limited reading, that is.

As for redneck noir, does it get any more rednecked than A Feast of Snakes? And what about Jim Thompson's books?
