FREEZER BURN goes on my all-time favorite list too. The
opening chapter is worth the price alone.
For redneck noir I don't think anybody has mentioned
Dusty Rhoades (www.jdrhoades.com/) two books, THE DEVIL'S
RIGHT HAND (St. Martin's Press 2005) and A GOOD DAY IN HELL
(2006). The protagonist is a bounty hunter in rural North
Carlolina. I read the first one last year and enjoyed it.
Haven't gotten around to the second book yet.
