FREEZER BURN goes on my all-time favorite list too. The opening chapter is worth the price alone.
For redneck noir I don't think anybody has mentioned Dusty Rhoades ( two books, THE DEVIL'S RIGHT HAND (St. Martin's Press 2005) and A GOOD DAY IN HELL (2006). The protagonist is a bounty hunter in rural North Carlolina. I read the first one last year and enjoyed it. Haven't gotten around to the second book yet.
