One great "noir" or "hardboiled" poet from last century whose
work, while still exceptional, seems a bit dated, is Kenneth
Fearing. If I remember correctly, Larry Beinhart used one of
the man's poems as a prelude to one of his books (not
American Hero--I think maybe No One Rides for Free).
