This may have been discussed before and I missed it, and if
so I apologize.
But if someone else here may also have missed
it...
I was aware of UK publisher Orion's SF
Masterworks and Fantasy Masterworks series. Somehow I was
unaware until Valentine's Day that Orion also has a Crime
Masterworks series. Makes sense, and I don't know why I
didn't even consider it before now.
My wife picked up a remainder at Barnes &
Noble of Jim Thompson's THE GRIFTERS, which is number
30-something in the Crime Masterworks series. I checked out
the series on Amazon.co.uk using its search feature, and the
usual suspects are there in the series, plus some titles I
don't recall getting mentioned here at all. But not all crime
masterworks are hardboiled, after all.
The cover art and design appears to be uniformly
nicely done -- nice books to have on the shelf in a row (if
you happen to shelve books in series like that).
Just a head's up to those who may be
interested.
