I'm crushed, crushed, that RAMOND CHANDLER - MASTER OF AMERICAN NOIR isn't included on your list.
Seriously, if anyone is interested in checking out my Chandler e-book, Barnes & Noble will be offering the Chandler course (with me as instructor) once again this April.

***************** I wasn't even aware that you had produced a complete book, Jim! Are there hardcopy versions? I want one! I'm not very e-book literate. Would I need a special reader?

I very much enjoyed the class. I'm going to take it again. The reading list is intensive and I fell behind the first time. And reading isn't enough. Jim prompts one to think, also. Yeah. It was a new experience for me.

There is no reason that a person can't read Chandler's books and enjoy them with no background information whatsoever, but for me Jim's insightful knowledge and thought-provoking questions vastly enriched the reading experience.
