I'm with Dave on the ending of the novel version of THE GETAWAY. I like it quite a bit. I remember reading the original review by Anthony Boucher, which, as I recall (dimly, at best) said something like "people will be writing academic papers on this ending in thirty or forty years." Not many people would have given a paperback original that much respect, but Boucher was often more perceptive than most reviewers. Maybe no articles have been written, but the ending's generated a nice discussion or two here on rara.
