Chabon's own short story - "The God of Dark Laughter," was
featured in the Year's Best Fantasy and Horror 2002. It is a
really diverting dark fantasy/mystery about a clown found
dead with this head flayed, and an ancient sect of in-bred
albinos being stalked through the centuries. Everyone knows
Clowns are damned scary, and this has to be the best Clown
Noir since James Powell's "A Dirge for Clown Town," and will
appeal to readers who enjoy, say, Joe Lansdale's more
outrageous side.
