Hi, Victoria, I didn't mean to pass a moral judgment, and I
realize how easy it is to feel superior. You make many good
points. I just find that the attitudes irritate me, and I'd
rather read the writers who seem more aware of their use of
racial comments. I know Maltese Falcon is a great book for
many reasons.
I see now that I missed the problem with the houseboy being
called a boy, when he must have been a man, so my sensitivity
about the boy/girl thing is obviously not up to par!
