Wasn't someone or some group (Writer's Guild, maybe?) recently trying to launch a class action lawsuit that claimed offering a percentage of net profits was bad faith negotiating since there was no such thing in Hollywood?

Is there such a thing as net profits in publishing or do they use the same accounting methods?
