I've only read The Come-On by him, and don't much remember
it, but Jim Cirni's books probably qualify.
And although I haven't read any, from what I've heard,
Richard Wormser worked that territory in his Gold Medal
books.
If you're just talking about organized crime, though, you
should check out Ted Lewis's Get Carter and GBH, set among
British gangsters.
