RARA-AVIS: RE: William Gibson's influences

From: Vince Emery ( vince@emery.com)
Date: 07 Oct 2005

William Gibson himself has spoken about the influence of Hammett on his work. See "Lost Stories" p. 50 for Gibson on Hammett's use of superspecificity.

(The quotation in "Lost Stories" was taken from an interview of Gibson by Larry McCaffery, printed in the books "Storing the Reality Studio" (1991) and "Across the Wounded Galaxies" (1990).
