I talked to Joe a couple of times yesterday. He's in good
spirits about the whole thing, much better than I'd be. We
discussed the irony of his damage and my complete escape from
damage. I live only a few miles from Galveston and he's well
inland. I don't think he's lost too many possessions. At
least his books were OK when we talked. I'll call him again
tomorrow to see how he's progressing.
